Comfort and camaraderie after a day on the land. Four rooms, a lounge with pool table and shuffleboard, and a patio and bar for the evening.

A private range on the ranch. Rifle lanes out to 250 yards, pistol lanes alongside, and a three-launcher clay setup, all from one stand.
The Place
A working ranch in Bell County, 45 minutes north of Austin, outside of Salado.
On the Ranch
We run the place as stewards first. Rotational grazing and selective clearing build the habitat, and the same ground that carries the cattle holds the deer, the turkey, and the exotics.
Arthur MacArthur Monteith bought the first 300 acres in 1905, just west of Salado. Six generations later the ranch is still family-run, still working, and still selling hunts and beef direct from the people who raise them.

September
Wingshooting over cultivated fields and stock-tank flyways to open the season.
Fall to January
Bow and rifle for mature, managed bucks across 3,000 acres of family ground.
October to February
Red stag, axis, and oryx on managed habitat, hunted spot-and-stalk or from blinds.
Late March to mid-May
Spring gobblers in native habitat, roosted flocks, decoy spreads, and calling.
Summer
Limited beef sets released through the summer. Beefmaster cross, USDA inspected, dry-aged, sold direct.
The rest of the year is fences, water, brush work, and waiting for the cold front.
